‘Libraries are browsing places, dreaming places, finding out places. So much education takes place when children are making choices of their own.’

Sir Michael Morpurgo – former Children’s Laureate and award-winning author

The LRC provides a friendly, supportive environment for students at Holy Trinity. It is a busy and thriving hub, where all students are welcome. The LRC is ideal for reading and browsing books, individual study, group study, homework and research.

Students have access to an ever increasing range of fiction and non-fiction texts and support is available to help students choose interesting and enjoyable reading material, therefore encouraging our students to become life-long readers. We are continually buying new texts and students regularly request new additions to the catalogue.

Opening Times Monday – Friday

  • Before school 8:00am – 8:35am
  • Lunch times 1.20pm – 2pm
  • After school 3:00pm – 3:45pm (please note on Wednesdays the LRC may be closed after school occasionally for staff training)

Whilst we endeavour to open at the times above, there are occasions when we need to close after school for training or to hold other extra-curricular events etc. We will always try and inform students of these changes and give as much notice as possible.

Throughout the year we hold special events including Harry Potter Book Night, events for World Book Day and World Book Night, book clubs and competitions – to name a few!  As a school that values reading, we enjoy the buzz around reading for pleasure and foster a love of reading.

If you have any questions or queries about the LRC or reading, please do not hesitate to contact Mrs E Stafford by either phoning the school or emailing estafford@holytrc.bham.sch.uk
