On Tuesday 2nd October myself and Mr Oulton-Doris had the pleasure of taking twelve students from Year 10 and 11 to the Digi Technology event at the Library of Birmingham. The event was superb and allowed our students to explore the use of digital technology in the world of careers through VR headsets, coding and programme design. Who knew that accountancy has departments such as cyber security and forensic technology who specialise in the field of hacking!?

Our students were able to interact with employers, discuss their future plans and gain expert advice from companies such as the NHS, Lloyds Banking, PWC, various Universities and Colleges.

And if all that was not enough, they also had the pleasure of meeting the Secretary of State Esther McVey and Andy Street the Mayor of West Midlands, both of whom spent time talking to our students to gain an insight into their future aspirations. The event was truly inspiring and all of the students had a fantastic time.
