Today, our first group of Year 10 Engineers attended a Future Makers Day at MAKE UK Technology Hub in Birmingham. The day was an exciting one that gave them the opportunity to consider all of the STEM careers that are open to them. They had a tour of the centre and the facilities, introduction into the apprenticeship pathways and introduction to welding.
In the second workshop they created a working model of a mechanical system to address a real problem.
At the end they showcased and reviewed all of the skills and attributes developed in the challenges and looked at what would be needed in a winning apprenticeship application!
A fantastic day all round. Thank you to Mr Walji for planning such a great day. The second group are looking forward to theirs now!
