Yesterday, 40 of our Year 8 girls attended the Cyber First MEGA event at Aston Villa football club and they were a credit to the school. The girls found the afternoon very informative and it has even given them an insight into other careers that they had not before considered.
The girls took part in sphero football, by coding and control via a tablet. They had different targets on a football pitch to aim for when coding the sphero. They built lego machines that had a spinning arm, which was used to hit a small football. Fatimah Zarah, Kulsoom Ali and Malak Aljasir won lego prizes from the building competition.
The VR may have been the girl’s favourite activity! The other groups took part in geo guessing and cyber detectives.
