Friday 27th January is Holocaust Memorial Day 2023 and to commemorate this, the Holocaust Educational Trust ran a live webcast with Holocaust survivor Ruth Posner this morning at 10am.
It was a brilliant opportunity for all of our Year 9 and 10 pupils to hear from a Holocaust survivor to aid their understanding of the complexity of the Holocaust. We were very impressed by their excellent behaviour, focus and the discussions that it provoked.
It is important that our pupils understand the horrors of this historical event and understand that no Holocaust survivor testimony is the same- they all had very different experiences. KS3 will be shown an age appropriate HMD lesson in their history lessons next week. Thank you to the History department and in particular to Miss Constantinou for all of her work in organising this special event.
